What is the Image to GIF Converter?

The Image to GIF Converter is a tool that allows users to create their own animated GIF from a sequence of static images. Users can upload multiple images, set the order, control the time delay between frames, and then generate and download the final animated GIF file.

History of this Feature

The GIF format, introduced in 1987, has been a staple of the internet for its ability to support simple animations. Creating them originally required specialized software. As GIFs became a central part of online culture for memes, reactions, and tutorials, the demand for simple, web-based creation tools grew. Our Image to GIF Converter was built to provide an easy, browser-based way for anyone to turn a series of photos or frames into a custom animation without needing to install any software.

Who Commonly Uses This Feature?

This tool is used by content creators to make simple animated explainers, social media users to create custom reaction GIFs, artists to animate a sequence of their drawings, and anyone who wants to bring a series of static images to life in a fun, shareable format.

How to Use the Image to GIF Converter

Create your own animated GIF by uploading a sequence of images.

  1. Upload Your Images: Click to upload two or more images. The order in which you select them will be the order they appear in the GIF.
  2. Review the Queue: Your uploaded images will appear in the "Image Queue." You can remove an image by hovering over it and clicking the "X" button. The numbers indicate the frame order.
  3. Set the Speed: Use the "Frame Delay" slider to set the time (in milliseconds) between each frame. A shorter delay creates a faster animation, while a longer delay creates a slower one.
  4. Generate Your GIF: Click the "Generate GIF" button.
  5. Preview and Download: A preview of your animated GIF will appear at the bottom of the page. Click "Download GIF" to save your creation.

Tip: For the best results, use images that are all the same size.
