1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Welcome to Cutterfy ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our website and its suite of tools (the "Services"). Our core philosophy is built on a foundation of privacy by design. We believe that you should not have to trade your personal data for access to useful tools. Therefore, we have architected our Services to collect as little information as possible.
For the vast majority of our tools, all processing occurs directly on your device, within your web browser. This means your files, data, and personal information never leave your computer.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We want to be explicitly clear about what we do not do. We do not collect, store, or have access to:
- The files you upload or process using our tools (e.g., images, documents).
- The content you enter into our tools (e.g., text for conversion, data for calculators).
- Any personal information generated or used within the tools, such as names in the Raffle tool or financial details in the calculators.
3. How Our Tools Handle Your Data
To provide full transparency, here is a breakdown of how different categories of our tools manage data:
a. Client-Side Processing Tools
The following tools operate exclusively within your browser. All data processing is done on your local machine, and your data is never sent to our servers.
- Image & File Tools: Gridify, Slice, Crop, Reduce, Watermark Adder, Image to PDF, Image to GIF, Image to Base64, Image to Favicon, Background Remover, and ZIP Compressor.
- Text & Content Tools: Text Case Converter, Fancy Text Generator, Text Scrambler, Plagiarism Checker, Text Compare, and Markdown/HTML Converter.
- Security Tools: Password Generator, Password Converter, File Encryptor, and GeoCapsule. Your master passwords, salts, files, and location data for these tools are processed locally and are never transmitted.
- Utility Tools: QR & Barcode Generator, WiFi QR Code Generator, Raffle Draw, and Text to Speech (uses browser's native engine).
- Calculators & Simulators: All calculators (Scientific, Budget, Loan, GWA, Paluwagan, BMI, Age, Statistics, Statistical Drift) and the Genetic Drift Simulator perform calculations locally.
b. Tools Using Local Storage
Certain tools use your browser's "Local Storage" to save your data and preferences so you can access them later. This data is stored only on your computer and is not accessible by us.
- To-Do List: Your tasks are saved in your browser's local storage.
- Mood Tracker: Your mood entries and notes are stored locally.
- Feature Preferences: When you select your favorite tools, these preferences are saved locally to personalize your homepage.
c. AI-Powered Tools
A few of our advanced features require communication with third-party services to function. For these tools, we only send the specific data needed to get a result.
- YouTube Content Generator & AI Text Humanizer/Detector: When you provide a topic or text, we send it to our AI service provider (Google via Genkit) to generate titles, descriptions, or analysis. We do not log this data on our servers. This interaction is subject to the third party's privacy policy.
4. Website Analytics
We use privacy-focused analytics (Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics) to understand website traffic and usage patterns. This helps us identify which tools are most popular and where we can make improvements. This data is aggregated and anonymized, meaning it cannot be used to personally identify you. We track page visits, not the content you input into the tools.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We do not use tracking cookies. We use `localStorage` for the specific functionalities mentioned in section 3b (like saving your to-do list and feature preferences) and for remembering your theme (light/dark mode). This information is stored on your device and is not used to track you across other sites.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
